Who is the bank connection provider?

The connection uses GoCardless or Salt Edge, authorised open banking providers that let guito read balances and transactions. The authorisation screen shows which one connects your bank. You authorise access directly with your bank and can revoke it.

What is the PSD2 directive and how does it protect me?

PSD2 is the second European Payment Services Directive. For guito connections, you authorise access to balances and transactions through your bank. This access is read-only and does not allow guito to make payments or transfers.

How often do I need to renew the authorisation?

Accepted Answer

Authorisation expires periodically, generally after 90 days, although the period can vary by bank. guito tells you when it needs renewing. You renew directly with your bank and keep the transactions already synced.

How often are transactions updated?

While you use guito, accounts update approximately every eight hours. After a period of inactivity, updates become less frequent, with at least one daily update. You can also request an update, within your bank’s limits.

How does the bank connection work?

Choose your bank and authorise access on the bank’s own website. guito does not see your credentials. After authorisation, balances and transactions sync automatically.

Can I add transactions manually?

Yes. You can create manual accounts and record transactions. You can also import a CSV or TSV statement and review transactions before saving them.
