These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the guito.pt and guito.app websites, the guito mobile apps and related services (together, the "Service"), provided by Guito Labs, Unipessoal Lda ("guito", "we" or "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service
guito is a personal finance app for organising and tracking accounts, transactions, budgets, goals, investments, assets and loans, with bank account connections, simulators, calculators and an artificial intelligence (AI) assistant.
guito does not provide financial, tax or investment advice and is not an entity supervised by the Banco de Portugal or the Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários (the Portuguese securities regulator). The information, calculations and simulations in the Service are for information only, are not recommendations to buy or sell or personalised advice, and depend on the accuracy of the data entered. The tax calculators do not replace confirmation with the Portuguese Tax Authority or a certified accountant. Investing involves risk, including the loss of the capital invested.
3. Age
The Service is intended for people aged 16 or over. Between the ages of 16 and 18, using it requires the authorisation of the holders of parental responsibility.
4. Account
You can create an account with an email address and password or with your Apple or Google account. You must keep your credentials confidential and tell us immediately, at support@guito.app, of any unauthorised use of your account.
5. Use of the Service
You agree to use the Service only for personal and lawful purposes and, in particular, not to:
- use it for unlawful activities or to distribute malware, spam or unlawful content;
- attempt to access areas or data of the system you are not authorised to access;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or modify the software, except where the law allows it;
- resell or commercially exploit access to the Service without our authorisation.
6. Subscriptions and payments
Paid plans give access to additional features of the Service and are not financial products. You can subscribe:
- on the guito.app website, where guito is the seller (section 6.1);
- in the mobile apps, where the purchase is made and charged by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google) (section 6.2).
In both cases:
- the price and features of each plan are shown before you confirm the purchase;
- the subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until cancelled;
- you can cancel the renewal at any time, at no cost, keeping access until the end of the paid period;
- unused periods are not refunded, except where the law provides otherwise, including the right of withdrawal (section 7).
6.1. Subscriptions on guito.app
- Payments are processed by payment service providers engaged by guito.
- You manage the subscription (changing plan, updating the payment method, entering a tax number (NIF), viewing invoices, cancelling or reactivating) in the billing area of your account.
- guito issues the invoices and processes any refunds due.
- On an annual plan, we email you about 45 days before each renewal, and never fewer than 30, with the renewal date, the price that will be charged and how to cancel.
- A promotional price (for example, the "Founder Price") applies for as long as the subscription stays active without interruption. If you cancel, you lose that price, and a new subscription is charged at the price then in force. We may stop offering promotional prices to new subscribers at any time.
6.2. Subscriptions in the mobile apps
- The purchase is processed and charged by the App Store or Google Play, using the account and payment method you hold with that store. guito does not receive your payment details.
- The price shown by the store applies, in the store's currency, including any introductory offer.
- Renewal, plan changes and cancellation are managed in the store's subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.
- The proof of purchase is issued by the store. guito issues no invoice and cannot attach a tax number (NIF) to these purchases.
- Refund requests, including for withdrawal, are made to the store and follow the store's terms. guito cannot process those refunds.
- App Store: deleting the guito account or uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription. Apple does not allow guito to cancel it: you must cancel it in the App Store subscription settings, or the store will keep charging the renewal.
- Google Play: deleting the guito account cancels the Google Play subscriptions linked to that account, and access continues until the end of the paid period, with no refund of the current period. Uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription. If the cancellation cannot be completed (for example, because Google is unavailable), you must cancel it in the Google Play subscription settings, where we recommend checking its status.
6.3. Terms for the app obtained from the App Store
These Terms are concluded between you and Guito Labs, Unipessoal Lda, and not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. For the iOS app:
- Licence: you are granted a limited, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the usage rules in the App Store terms of service.
- Maintenance and support: guito is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support for the app. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services with respect to the app.
- Warranty: guito, and not Apple, is solely responsible for any warranty relating to the app, to the extent not validly disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app, if any; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the app.
- Product claims: guito, and not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app or its use, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to any legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or privacy legislation.
- Intellectual property: in the event of a third-party claim that the app or your use of it infringes intellectual property rights, guito, and not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- Legal compliance: you represent that you are not located in a country subject to a United States Government embargo or designated by that Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any United States Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Third-party terms: you must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the app, for example those of your wireless carrier.
- Third-party beneficiary: Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance of them, Apple may enforce them against you.
- Contact: questions, complaints or claims relating to the app should be directed to guito, using the contact details in section 1.
6.4. Free trial
We may offer a free 14-day trial of the Plus plan, which starts only when you expressly accept it:
- on the guito.app website, it requires no payment method and may be used once per account. At the end, if you have not subscribed to a paid plan, the account returns to the free plan at no charge;
- in the mobile apps, it is an introductory offer of the store, subject to the store's eligibility rules. At the end, the store charges the price shown when you accepted it and the subscription renews automatically, unless you cancel it in the store's subscription settings at least 24 hours before the end of the trial.
7. Right of withdrawal
If you subscribe on guito.app, you have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of the initial subscription, without giving any reason and at no cost, under Portuguese Decree-Law No. 24/2014 of 14 February. To exercise it within that period, use the "Withdraw from contract here" option in the billing area of your account, or send us a clear statement of your decision at support@guito.app; you may use the model form in the annex. We confirm receipt by email, with the date and time. The subscription ends immediately and we refund everything you paid within 14 days of receiving your statement, using the same means of payment you used.
This right applies to the initial subscription. Automatic renewals do not start a new withdrawal period.
If you subscribed in the mobile apps, the request is made to the App Store or Google Play, through the store's refund channels, and follows the store's terms (section 6.2).
8. Bank account connections
Bank accounts are connected through an account information service provider authorised under Directive (EU) 2015/2366 (PSD2). The connection is read-only: guito can never move funds and never receives the credentials for your bank. You can disconnect an account at any time in guito or with your bank.
9. Your data
How we process your personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. You keep all rights to the data you enter, which guito uses only to provide the Service. You can export your data or delete your account at any time in your account settings (section 13.1).
10. Intellectual property
The Service, including the software, texts, graphics, logos and trade marks, belongs to Guito Labs, Unipessoal Lda or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property rights. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works without our prior written authorisation, except where the law allows it.
11. Third-party services
The Service lets you use third-party services of your choice, such as banks, brokerages, app stores and external AI assistants. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and guito is not responsible for them.
11.1. External AI assistants
On the Plus plan and during the free trial, you can connect an external AI assistant of your choice (for example, Claude or ChatGPT) to your account. In that case:
- you choose the assistant and authorise its access to your data; guito does not choose, contract or control that assistant;
- the assistant may read your financial data and only changes it with your express confirmation;
- the data transmitted to the assistant is subject to the terms and privacy policy of its provider;
- you can revoke the connection at any time in your account settings, which ends the access immediately;
- guito is not responsible for the assistant's responses, actions or data-handling practices.
12. Conformity and liability
guito is liable for the conformity of the Service as provided by law, including Portuguese Decree-Law No. 84/2021 of 18 October. The Service may be temporarily interrupted for maintenance, updates or causes beyond our control.
To the extent permitted by law, guito is not liable:
- for financial, tax or investment decisions taken on the basis of information in the Service, or for their outcome;
- for errors or delays in data provided by third parties, such as banks and market data providers.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits guito's liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or the rights that the law mandatorily grants to consumers.
13. Termination
13.1. By you
You can delete your account at any time in your account settings, or by email to support@guito.app sent from your account's email address.
- Deletion is carried out 7 days after the request. Until then, you can cancel the request by signing in.
- After that period, the account and its data are permanently deleted, except for data the law requires us to keep.
- A subscription purchased on guito.app stops renewing from the request and ends when the account is deleted, with no refund of the current period.
If you subscribed through an app store, the effect depends on the store. An App Store subscription is not cancelled when you delete the guito account: you must cancel it in the App Store subscription settings, or the store will keep charging the renewal. When you delete the guito account, a Google Play subscription is cancelled by guito, and access continues until the end of the paid period; if that cancellation cannot be completed, you must cancel it in the Google Play subscription settings.
13.2. By guito
We may suspend or close an account in the event of a breach of these Terms, fraudulent or abusive use, non-payment, or a legal requirement or court order. We give prior notice, stating the reason, except in cases of fraud or abuse or where the law prevents it.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, the law or our practices. The version in force is always on this page, with the date of its last revision. We notify registered users by email of significant changes, with reasonable advance notice. If you do not agree, you can cancel your subscription and delete your account before the changes take effect, without prejudice to any other rights the law gives you.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Portuguese law, without prejudice to the protection given to you by the mandatory rules of the law of your country of habitual residence and to your right to bring proceedings before the courts of your domicile.

If you live in another EU Member State, the European Consumer Centre in your country helps free of charge with complaints against businesses in other EU countries.
16. General provisions
- These Terms are the entire agreement between you and guito about the Service. The Privacy Policy describes how we process your personal data and is not part of this contract.
- If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions stay in force.
- guito's failure to exercise a right under these Terms does not mean it waives that right.
- You may not transfer your position under this contract without our prior written consent.
